Predynastic period ca. 5500 – 2950 BCE
ED = Early Dynastic period (dynasties 1 and 2, ca. 2950 – 2650 BCE)
OK = Old Kingdom (dynasties 3-6, ca. 2650 – 2175 BCE)
FIP = First Intermediate Period (dynasties 7-11, ca. 2175 – 1975 BCE)
MK = Middle Kingdom (dynasties 12-13, ca. 1975 – 1630)
SIP = Second Intermediate Period (dynasties 14-17, ca. 1630 – 1540)
NK = New Kingdom (dynasties 18-20, ca. 1540 – 1075)
TIP = Third Intermediate period (dynasties 21-24, ca. 1540 – 750)
LP = Late Period (dynasties 25-31 / second Persian Period, ca. 750 – 332 BCE)
